Q: What’s the closest airport to the ranch?
A: Missoula International, about 1.5 hours from the ranch. Driving directions
Q: What’s the closest town to the ranch?
A: Darby, about a 20-minute drive.
Q: Is there a grocery store in Darby?
A: Yes, or you can drive to Hamilton for bigger stores like Safeway, about 45 minutes from the ranch.
Q: Are the guesthouses fully equipped?
A: Yes, the houses are comfortably furnished and fully supplied with all kitchen staples, such as flour, sugar, oil and spices. You can buy groceries and cook for yourself, or we can arrange for a completely catered experience.
Q: What about Internet connection and cell reception?
A: John Talley, the ranch manager, can arrange for you to send/receive email. Cell phones work at Connor’s Pass, about 10 minutes down the road.
Q: Do I need to bring my own fishing equipment?
A: Yes. We are working toward having some Equipment available by the end of Summer 2016.
Q: What’s the weather like in the summer?
A: Warm days, but it cools off quickly at night, so bring a jacket.
Q: What about winter on the ranch?
A: Winter is just as incredible, and we’ve had many families over the years stay for Christmas and other winter holidays. The skiing at Lost Trail offers great conditions with very cheap lift ticket prices. Snowmobiling is another winter favorite. For rentals see link below.
